Below is a game-by-game preview of every Washington Wizards home game this month at the Capital One Arena:
Washington hosts Charlotte again as the Southeast Division rivals meet for the second time this season. Brandon Miller and Coby White drive a young Hornets offense, with Naz Reid and Kon Knueppel providing frontcourt shooting. The Wizards counter with the Trae Young–Anthony Davis tandem and hope AJ Dybantsa continues his ascent against a similarly youthful opponent.
The reigning champion Knicks come to Capital One Arena, giving Washington a chance to test itself against the standard-bearer. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns headline a deep New York roster that also features OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges on the wings. Anthony Davis and Trae Young will need a signature effort, with Bilal Coulibaly drawing a tough defensive assignment against the champs.
The Raptors make their second trip to Washington behind Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram. The Wizards will again rely on Anthony Davis to neutralize Jakob Poeltl's interior presence while Trae Young pressures Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett in the open floor. Khris Middleton's veteran shot-making could prove decisive in a matchup of ascending teams.
On the second night of a back-to-back, Washington welcomes a loaded Cleveland team led by Donovan Mitchell and the frontcourt duo of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. James Harden adds another playmaking threat, testing the Wizards' guard defense. Anthony Davis and Deandre Ayton must hold up against Cleveland's size while Trae Young looks to keep pace with Mitchell's scoring.
A post-holiday matchup brings Damian Lillard and Ja Morant to the capital in a Portland backcourt overflowing with speed and shot-making. Trae Young faces a stern test trying to match that firepower, while Anthony Davis anchors the paint against a smaller Blazers frontcourt. Familiar face Deni Avdija returns to Washington as the Wizards chase another home win.
