The Wizards open their exhibition slate at Capital One Arena with a fresh-looking roster built around Anthony Davis and Trae Young, and the preseason is the first live look at how they mesh with No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa. Detroit counters with Cade Cunningham running the show alongside Jalen Duren and the disruptive Ausar Thompson. Expect deep rotations and plenty of run for young frontcourt pieces Alex Sarr and Duncan Robinson's shooting on the visiting side.
Washington wraps its home preseason against a rebuilt Brooklyn group led by Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle. It is another chance for Trae Young to build chemistry with Deandre Ayton and Khris Middleton before games count. Watch Bilal Coulibaly and Alex Sarr test themselves against Randle's physicality inside while rookie guard Egor Demin gets extended minutes for the Nets.
The regular season tips off in earnest as the Wizards host a retooled Milwaukee team fronted by Tyler Herro and rim-protector Myles Turner. Trae Young and Anthony Davis headline a Washington outfit eager to prove its rapid rise is real, with Kyle Kuzma making a return trip to face his former club. Kel'el Ware and Alex Sarr provide an intriguing matchup of athletic young bigs in the paint.
Washington welcomes a deep, versatile Toronto team spearheaded by Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram. The Wizards will lean on Anthony Davis to anchor the defense against Jakob Poeltl and the Raptors' size, while Trae Young tries to outpace Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett in transition. AJ Dybantsa's early-season development remains the storyline worth tracking for the home crowd.
Group play in the NBA Cup arrives as the Wizards host Southeast Division rival Charlotte at Capital One Arena. Brandon Miller and Coby White pace a young Hornets attack, with Naz Reid supplying frontcourt punch off the bench. Washington counters with the Trae YoungβAnthony Davis pairing and hopes Bilal Coulibaly can lock down the perimeter in a game that carries tournament stakes.
